Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to our most asked questions including what you should wear on Soccer Island, information about inclement weather and more.

Where can my child participate in Soccer Shots?

Soccer Shots is held at childcare centers, preschools and schools, as well as public locations. Our public programs are open to the general public while our childcare center and school programs are only open to those enrolled at the location.

What type of equipment will my child need to participate?

Soccer Shots provides all of the equipment needed at each of our sessions. Your child should wear activity-appropriate clothing. Cleats and shin guards are NOT necessary.

How do I know the locations of the park programs?

To find public programs in your area, select Enroll Now at the top of this page.

Can I have Soccer Shots start a park program near me?

Yes! We are always willing to start a public program near you. The easiest way for this to happen is for you to form a group of eight children willing to take part in a Soccer Shots season. These could be children from your neighborhood, friends from church or synagogue, or your parent groups. We're happy to help talk through ideas on how to make this happen. Please contact your local director for more information.

What can I expect from a Soccer Shots session?

Our weekly 30-40 minute sessions focus on basic soccer skills like dribbling, passing and shooting. Through fun games and positive reinforcement, children will begin to experience the joy of playing soccer and being active. We also highlight a positive character trait each session such as respect, teamwork and appreciation.

What happens if a session is cancelled due to inclement weather?

Soccer Shots attempts to make up all missed sessions during the course of a season. We will either add an additional week to the season or choose a make-up day.

How do I know if a session is cancelled due to inclement weather?

In the case of inclement weather, Soccer Shots will notify you of any cancelations and make up sessions. We generally try to notify you of cancelations at least 2 hours before the start of the session.

What is your refund policy?

All requests for enrollment cancellation must be made in writing via email to coach@soccershots.com. Please provide participant’s first and last name along with the class you wish to cancel. We will do full refunds before the season is scheduled to start as long as your cancellation request is made via email to coach@soccershots.com at least 48 hours before the scheduled start time of the first class. Any cancellation requests made within 48 hours of the first class will result in a one-class fee. Partial refund requests made after the season has started will be prorated from the date of your request, based on the remaining classes (regardless of attendance). Cancellation requests made within 48 hours of the scheduled start time of the upcoming class will result in the charge of that class. Partial refunds can be processed up until 48 hours after the conclusion of the third class. Account Credit will be given for cancellation requests made 48-hours or more after the third scheduled class date. Account Credit amount will be prorated based on the number of classes remaining. Credit will remain on account until used (can be applied to any enrollment on that account). No refunds or credits will be issued after a program’s scheduled end date. Refunds or credits will not be issued for missed sessions due to personal reasons (e.g., travel, illness, schedule conflicts). Refunds or credits will not be issued for failure to attend scheduled make-up sessions. Unused credits are non-transferable to other accounts and are not eligible for refunds, regardless of participant age. The Annual Enrollment Fee, which is charged once every 365 days, is non-refundable and cannot be waived.

What is your weather policy?

Soccer Shots may cancel class due to inclement weather such as extreme heat, extreme cold, low air quality, or intensive rain with frigid temperatures (subject to the discretion of Soccer Shots). We often wait until the day of class to make a decision in order to get a more accurate assessment. The decision to attend class is always up to you. We will send communications via text and email as soon as a decision is made to cancel a class.

What is your make-up policy if a class is canceled?

Soccer Shots guarantees one make-up class each season due to a class cancellation. Examples include a coach call out, weather cancellation, or park closure. Additional cancellations will not be eligible for a refund or future class voucher. Make-up class dates and times are pre-scheduled for every class, please see your class product description for its scheduled make-up date information.

I missed a class, how can I make that up?

Make-up sessions cannot be scheduled for individual players unable to attend scheduled sessions for personal reasons (vacation, illness, etc). Soccer Shots schedules one makeup class each season due to a class cancellation. Examples include a coach call out, weather cancellation, or park closure. Additional cancellations will not be eligible for a refund or future class voucher. Please see your class product description for its scheduled make-up date.

What is your parent attendance policy?

It is required that a parent or guardian remain on site during the entire duration of Soccer Shots – Public or Park Classes. This policy is in place to ensure the safety and well-being of all children, as well as to create a positive and engaging environment for everyone involved. We understand that parents may have other obligations, but we kindly request your cooperation in prioritizing your child’s safety and enjoyment during the class.

What are your disclaimers?

These disclaimers are also presented at checkout. If you enroll via phone, disclaimers will be acknowledged and accepted on your behalf, and can be viewed by request.

What if the class I enrolled for has low enrollment?

A minimum of 5 enrolled players are required at least 5 days prior to the first session for that program to take place. Soccer Shots reserves the right to cancel any program due to insufficient enrollment. Upon cancellation, we will attempt to find alternative programming, otherwise a full credit or full refund will be available. Cancellation notices will be sent by email, to the account email address, typically not less than 48-hours prior to the session. If, for any reason, a program is canceled prior to the start of the season we will offer a full credit voucher or refund.
